Our audiologists perform complete hearing patient diagnostic testing, evaluations and hearing aid services for newborns to adults. Your first hearing patient appointment begins with a thorough discussion of your history, current complaints and questions. We offer a variety of services and will determine which ones are right for you and your circumstances, including:
Diagnostic Tests and Evaluations:
ENG/VNG Audiological Test
/Videonystagmography): This is series of tests used to determine the causes of dizziness or balance conditions. This test used to determine whether or not dizziness may be due to inner ear disease.
ABR Audiological Test
(Auditory Brainstem Response): This test is used to help determine a person’s ability to hear. We use a special computer to measure the way a patient’s hearing nerve responds to different sounds.
VEMP Audiological Test
(Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential): An assessment used to determine how the otolithic organs of the inner ear function. It complements the information provided by caloric testing and other forms of inner ear testing.
Rotary Chair Audiological Test
Rotary Chair: The purpose of rotational testing is to determine whether or not dizziness may be due to a disorder of inner ear or brain.
OAE Audiological Test
(Otoacoustic Emissions Test): A test given to determine cochlear status, specifically hair cell function.
ECOG Audiological Test
ECOG: This test is intended to diagnose Meniere’s disease, and swelling of the inner ear (hydrops).
FISTULA Audiological Test
Fistula: A test designed to replicate an inner ear fluid leak causing imbalance and vertigo.
CAP Audiological Test
(Central Auditory Processing): A series of tests in a sound-treated room. These tests require listeners to attend to a variety of signals and to respond to them via repetition, pushing a button. Other tests that measure the auditory system’s physiologic responses to sound may also be administered.
Multi-office Western New York Hearing Clinic: As one of the largest hearing practices in this area, in addition to our offices, we provide care to area hospitals, nursing homes and educational programs.
